are you the one bench is looking for?

Do you have the looks, the body, the style, and the guts to strut around in the hottest fashion event in town? If you’re between the ages of 18 to 25, with a height of no shorter than 5‘4” for female, and 5’9” for male, then head over, along with your favorite Bench underwear (no boxers please), to Suyen Corporation at 2214 Tolentino Street, Pasay City, from 1 to 5 pm on May 5, 6 and 11, 2006, together with your portfolio, close-up and full-body photos, and prove your worth as Bench begins its search for the promising new models for the biggest and grandest underwear show ever. The Davao go-see is scheduled on May 16 at Marco Polo Hotel, while the Cebu go-see is on May 18 at Waterfront Hotel, Lahug. The chosen few will be part of the crowd-drawing show featuring several well-known Bench endorsers, plus some guest celebrities. This will be your chance to be part of the Bench Underwear Show on its 4th and majestic run yet. For more details and inquiries, don’t hesitate to call 887-2311 loc. 126 or 160 and look for Karen Jardenil or Leonard Sy. See you there!

ok, so it's a press release, so what? every other year, bench holds one of the most anticipated events of the year, the underwear show. we're really looking forward to this year's show because bench has yet to top the first one they held at araneta coliseum in 2002 (previous ones were held at world trade center and mars disco), which people were talking about for months! and especially since the one in 2004 was a bit of a letdown (we liked the french acrobats and the japanese drummers, but the underwear show itself, um, er, no comment). this year, the bench underwear show will be held again at the araneta coliseum on june 30, so keep the date free and make your connections now as those tickets will be the most coveted and most difficult to get (that is, if you want to sit on the front row. tickets are usually given away when you make a purchase at any bench store). this time it will be directed by robby carmona (a departure from ariel lozada who has been a bench favorite), and we heard from a reliable source that this year's theme is disco. segments will be styled by designers patrice ramos-diaz (who is now based in shanghai), rhett eala and randy ortiz, and by society-column staples tim yap and tessa prieto-valdes. hair and makeup will be by patrick rosas's team and propaganda. bring your binoculars!
