we remember the first time we saw teresa herrera on the runway. it must've been over 10 years ago and she was a finalist in some model competition. if we remember correctly, it was supermodel of the world and linda evangelista came to manila to be part of the panel of judges. although teresa was quite raw, she was the prettiest, and what we remember so well that night as she walked down the runway were her shoes: they were a size too big! now why would she wear a pair of pumps too big for her that she practically dragged her feet? what idiot made her wear that? was someone sabotaging her? she would've been better off barefoot! needless to say she didn't win, but you know what? she didn't even have to join that competition because look at how much she has accomplished since then—countless magazine covers and editorials, tons of print ads and tv commercials, millions of miles walked on many runways, and not just in the philippines, but all over asia. and add to her resumé, budding hollywood actress! check her out, she's on imdb! (teresa, we want to see you walk down the red carpet this time at the academy awards!) we bumped into her last week at the studio of photographer frank hoefsmit, being made up by makeup artist jigs mayuga for a shoot for a fashion editorial. (we can't say for what... privileged information... we shall update you when it comes out :-)
ack, don't you just hate women like her who look just as gorgeous without makeup as with?? and that skin, so luminous! and her most recognizable feature, those gorgeous green eyes. but you know what? don't hate her because she's beautiful; don't hate her because she's nice!!
UPDATE: this is the result of teresa's shoot that day. this appeared in philippine daily inquirer's fashion section on may 19, 2006, friday. "case in point" by cheche v. moral, photographed by frank hoefsmit, hair and makeup by jigs mayuga for l'oréal, styled by maureen disini for big on style, modeled by teresa herrera for calcarrie's.
