meanwhile, across town...

...more new stalls opened at the independent lifestyles section of power plant mall, right next to irene's closet and pilar. now you don't have to make a field trip out of visiting marni's room all the way in malate (although the original branch is currently under renovation). you'll find the same vintage treasures that you know and love in a location that's clean, has no traffic, has lots of parking, and has lots of other shops to boot. the only thing that'll be missing is marni herself (you'll have to do with her likeness, right there at the top) unless louis brings her over. we just hope the prices don't increase because, well, it's different when you're in a mall. we've already scored ourselves a pair of bug-eyed vintage YSL sunglasses, and we're eyeing a couple of vivienne westwood bags...
right across that is plank, the retail outlet of three young designers guild members: patteu by patty eustaquio, verity by yvonne quisumbing-romulo and louvre by LZ punzalan. gotta love those names. the fash pack had to ask what plank meant, and patty said it didn’t really mean anything, “just that [this store] serves as a platform for our ready-to-wear. walk the plank, wear something unique… although yvonne insists that P for patty, L is for LZ, and K is for quisumbing.” shouldn’t that be planque then? para french ang dating, o ‘di ba??

Marni's room looks quite inviting. The other one, is it Plank or Planque (?), looks like Marni's stock room. It looks very sad. There's not much to see or buy. The cuts do not come in different shapes and sizes, and the colors are drab and dull. For three supposedly good designers to collaborate in one store, we consumers are expecting more from this group. Were those just the first batch of stocks? Good luck, guys!
