new news newsy: collaborations
it started out as as an announcement on her official website that gisele bündchen shot a campaign for apple. but that newsbit has since been taken down, so no one can confirm it (and don't bother looking for it in her website, unless you speak portuguese). could she be the face for the new apple store in fashionable fifth avenue, new york? ... if you think of nine west's shoes as knock-offs of designer shoes, by next season's collection, they're going to be actual designer shoes. following in the footsteps (no pun intended) of H&M and target, nine west teamed up with three established names in fashion to design shoes for the brand. starting in september, they'll introduce limited-edition flats, pumps, sandals and boots by vivienne westwood, sophia kokosalaki and thakoon. but the big questions is, will they be available here? ... and speaking of H&M, they revealed which designer will design the third limited-edition collection come november: viktor & rolf. and still on that subject, madonna has inked a deal with the swedish clothing giant. during her summer tour, H&M will be dressing her during her off-stage appearances, as well as team madonna—band, dancers, crew, staff. and she will also be starring in an H&M campaign. on stage, however, it's jean paul gaultier all the way ... after yohji yamamoto's collaboration with adidas for Y3, the revered japanese designer is doing it again with mandarina duck. taking a cue from samsonite's partnership with the likes of philippe starck and marc newson, the new line will be called Y's mandarina. but we'll have to wait till spring 2007 to see that.
