the fash pack would like to congratulate designer rajo laurel and model/actress teresa herrera for the launch of their first collaboration called isla. it's a capsule collection of resort wear "for the fashionably discerning traveler," says teresa. "each piece is versatile and can be worn at least three different ways. you can take each piece from the beach all the way to dinner." teresa and rajo go way back, when they first met at teresa's first fashion show, which was for louie mamengo. man, that must have been back in the early 90s when rajo was an apprentice for louie! (was that the all-black collection held at studebaker in glorietta 3, the space now occupied by gold's gym??) louie mamengo was one of manila's more established designers back then. he has since moved his business to los angeles; although at this point we have no idea how he's doing. rajo and teresa are currently marketing the seven-piece collection in the US—los angeles, new york, miami—and have recently picked up distribution in hong kong, china and thailand. fantastic! will it be available in the philippines? "hopefully soon..." here's a sneak peek into isla's boracay collection (modeled by the gorgeous teresa herself), which teresa says was "inspired the most beautiful beach in the world!"
