we're kinda over this twitter thing. it’s hard to keep posts down to 140 characters. besides, with today’s kwents, we doubt we can limit our words. this past weekend, the fash pack was invited to the wedding of jewelry designer ciara marasigan to kirk serumgard at villa escudero in quezon. we remember back in the 80s (or was it the 70s? the 90s...? basta bata pa kami noon…), every year owner ado escudero would hold his birthday party there and it was always themed, so everyone would actually drive all the way out there in costume. those days are over, but last saturday, that atmosphere was revived with the spectacular wedding organized by ado and his team. it was a major production full of drama, it was practically a fiesta! here is the couple on the high platform (more like a stage) in the church, with ciara’s long train blowing in the electric-fan-induced wind (so dramatic!): guests were requested to come in “formal filipiniana” and since we’ve gained weight due to inactivity (or is it just gravity pulling at our fats and depositing them all in our hips?), our one-and-only joe salazar terno gown no longer fits (sad!). so we had to borrow mother’s terno (yikes!). so of course it was not unusual to see the mommies and the lolas in their ternos because that’s all they used to wear during formal occasions back in the day, but it was cute to see the younger women struggling with theirs. as for us, we realized just how uncomfortable ternos really are. beautiful as they are, those sleeves are a pain, man! just raise your arm a bit and the sleeve dents at sira na ang porma mo. it requires an escort to puff it up from the inside. how does imelda do it (who was there too btw)? oops, someone walked into the frame… the other “blue ladies” (junior version, haha ;-)…
