beauty blog: miracle in a tube?

the fash pack attends beauty-product launches all the time, and sometimes we just go through the motions of sitting there and politely listening to their spiel that this product is the best! the latest! the only one of its kind! and guaranteed to make you beautiful! whatever! but today was different: we have never left a launch this excited to try the product. before today we had never heard of StriVectin-SD. but as we sat among the ladies, several of them were raving about this product, giving testimonials left and right. maybe because most of them were mothers who had stretch marks after childbirth and had tried strivectin and it worked. sorry, we couldn't relate. but when dr. lou rinaldi, chief cosmetic development officer of basic research, began speaking, well, he had us at gets-rid-of-wrinkles-too! the product is now being promoted as an anti-wrinkle cream (kinda reminds us of those stories about how some supermodels use preparation-H to temporarily "tighten" their facial skin), and it's become so popular among women whose job it is to look good (read: hollywood celebrities) that they've "requested" (yeah, right, i'm sure it was more like "demanded") that the cream be included in the swag given away at awards shows (J.lo is that you?). and their tagline "better than botox?" may not even be enough to describe this product because, although they won't make any claims, it also gets rid of cellulite! we are so sold! and speaking of sold, we're so lucky we won't have to buy our first tube because they raffled off several and, guess what, the fash pack won one! woo-hoo! smooth, wrinkle-free, stretch mark-free, cellulite-free skin, here we come! miracle in a tube? call us in 4-6 weeks... Strivectin-SD, 6 oz tube, P9,980, available at rustan's makati, shangri-la plaza, and alabang town center.
PS: how to use—cleanse, tone, apply strivectin (its concentrated, so a little goes a long way), then moisturize. note: it's not a moisturizer.

I started trying Strivectin-D in September 2005 to get rid of my stretch marks on the shoulders and upper chest. I used it for over a year, and I don't see any difference! Then a dermatologist told me that the only way to remove stretch marks is through surgery, and that no cream will ever do it. I also tried using Strivectin-D around my eyes to diminish fine lines (I'm 46), but I don't see any change after 3 months. This product is bogus, and it's one of many products that use false advertising to get you to buy it! Save your money for good ol' surgery instead! Or use make-up to cover your stretch marks!
