the fash packs: hong kong
we disappeared for a few days last week to visit the happiest place on earth. no, not this: but this! we went a little crazy in H&M. when we first reported that they were coming out with a marimekko collection, we swore we would go to the nearest H&M by april when the line would be released. well, we were a month too late, so we were left with the scraps. marimekko scraps, no less. so what's new in hong kong? take a look at this: just a few steps away from H&M in central is the first coach flagship store in hong kong. it's bee-yoo-tee-full! it really stands out, especially at night. we tried to enter last wednesday but the guard at the door wouldn't let us in—because it wasn't open yet! he said come back friday at 7pm. which we did, and the party was over. the sidewalk was full of those flower coronas—it was like the wake of a famous person. coach is really expanding its presence in china and this is the first of many stores still to open in the mainland. in japan, coach is the second best-selling bag brand (only next to louis vuitton, of course). they are so huge that a few years ago, they hired mandy moore to be its image model, but only for the japanese market (we guess, she was popular there back then; now, who knows?). we wonder... will SSI ever bring coach back to the philippines...?
