the gallerie at rustan's

have you been to rustan's makati lately? the grand old lady has been undergoing a few nips and tucks here and there, starting with the home floor a year ago—shopping there for your kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and sala became fun. then tiffany & co. on the ground floor renovated and is now brighter and classier, befitting the luxury fine-jewelry brand. then several months ago, the bandages were removed to reveal her major facelift: the new and improved women's department. and tonight was its formal launch. the spanking new 300-square-meter ladies-wear section is called "the gallerie" and now carries exciting brands like emilio pucci, helmut lang, theory, and vera wang lavender label, as well as mainstays vivienne tam, nicole miller, diane von furstenberg, and BCBG max azria. rustan's has managed to inject that much-needed fashion shot in the arm by bringing inno sotto in as creative director (boy, the guy is really busy!). we can even sense a different energy and excitement with the sales staff, like they can't wait to sell sell sell those clothes! some looks that caught our eye:

if you want to look like the boss (diane von furstenberg top and skirt, YSL bag):
love this for a pigging-out weekend (les petites dress, un jour un sac bag):
cool, urban chic (helmut lang outfit, hogan bag):
not your usual little black dress (dress by nicole miller):
perfect for a beach or poolside party (emilio pucci dress, fendi bag):
young, relaxed formal (nicole miller gown):

Theory is in Rustans na?! I got excited =) Theory contacted me a year or so ago and asked for a background on Manila's retail scene. They invited me to their headquarters in the Meatpacking District too! I told them Rustans department store is the way to go if they don't want to put up their flagship store yet. Now Theory is there na! I hope their clothes do well! I told them kasi Manila is ready for them! =)
