the magazine biz worldwide is one of the most affected by the recession. advertisers are trimming their budgets and sticking with tried-and-tested titles, readers are no longer buying magazines, publishing houses are downsizing staff. because of this, many international titles have been shuttered. sad... we've also been hearing of local magazines shutting down since late last year (but amazingly, new ones popping up from nowhere). but today we got the saddest news of all: our favorite magazine domino is closing! waaah!! :'-( we've never missed an issue since it launched in april 2005. its last issue will be march. what will happen to our subscription now...

Without Domino after March, that means I won't have any happy/friendly US shelter magazines to read anymore (dead na rin si MS Blueprint). Looks I have to look at Aussie mags instead (beautiful, but not the same). And yes, I do find it shocking that many mags here are still opening...and most of them staffed with people who don't know what they're doing! :-(
this truly broke my heart as well. i love domino and there really is just no replacement. i hope it returns, someday.
