domino's done

we are one of those people who deeply laments the demise of domino magazine. last month, they released their last issue without any indication that it was their last, not even a goodbye letter from the editor in chief. buti pa yung marie claire philipines, myrza got to say goodbye and thank you to their readers. now what shelter magazine are we gonna buy?? we love elle decoration (UK edition), but it's just too damn expensive, we resort to scrounging for back issues in book sale or mio magazine shop. maybe we'll just buy real living (philippine edition, not australian edition, para mura!), the most user-friendly local shelter publication. apparently, this blogger style redux lamented more deeply than we did that she came out with a faux cover for what she fantasized the domino april issue might look like! then two weekends ago, while doing some home improvement, we decided to go to the domino website for some inspiration. we were diverted to the architectural digest website and found this letter:

how sad! what a lame attempt at a goodbye? an apology? a sales pitch?? then yesterday, since we subscribed to domino directly through the condé nast website, we received this notice in the mail:

With regret, we have decided that we will no longer be publishing Domino.

In its place, we will be sending you Glamour, starting with the August 2009 issue, for the duration of your remaining Domino subscription term.
