yesterday afternoon we found ourselves for the first time in eastwood mall. it's a nice new clean mall that has all your favorite brands and then some. on the way out, we saw that the lobby was about to have a launch: for the cory aquino edition of eastwood mall's enviro-chic bag designed by rajo laurel. we've been waiting for this bag! but we weren't invited, so we crashed, hee-hee. there was a little stall that sold assorted ninoy/cory aquino commemorative products... sales of these products go to the benigno s. aquino foundation...
unfortunately, the cory bag was sold out the first day it went on sale on september 1! so we listed our name down for three bags. each one costs P600. luckily, we spotted rajo himself carrying the bag! these bags are made by the same women from payatas who make the rags2riches bags and accessories. every part of the bag—from the canvas to the macramé handles to the wooden label—was made from recycled material. truly an environmentally friendly bag! bravo to the creative and enterprising nanays who continue to make us and our country proud!
PS: "the last journey of ninoy" will be showing at eastwood mall gold cinema till september 9. for ticket inquiries and screening schedules, call 709-9888.
