saturday night's all right

is it old age, forgetfulness, stress, hilo, or walang paki-alam?? we're embarrassed to admit that a month ago we signed up for the slim exhibit workshop for philippine dressing traditions & social history on march 20, which was yesterday, and we didn't show up!! kasi nga we forgot!! we had to apologize to one of the organizers... and at least she told us that the exhibit of slim will be extended to may 15, 2010. she was only too happy to report that it is the most viewed exhibit in the national museum's history, wow! but yesterday we did remember to attend the launch of bea alonzo's new fragrances for kashieca hehe... can you imagine driving all the way from makati to trinoma on a saturday evening?? ugh, took us over an hour! para sulit ang field trip to QC, we made a reservation na rin at romulo café, which we had been wanting to try out. (sorry, no pix! the place was fully booked, so they could only give us an al-fresco table and it was too dark to shoot the food.) we also should've watched cecile licad who was performing at the trinoma park at the same time as the kashieca event waahh! and we missed her concert at greenbelt 5 just two days before because we didn't know if it was free or if we had to buy tickets waahh! (yes, we love cecile licad!!) well, at least we got to watch SOME kind of concert. at the kashieca launch, behind a sheer white curtain, we could barely see—but heard very well—the jazzy performance of skarlet and caliph8 while kashieca-clad models walked down the runway...
there were cute boys too dressed in celio...
finally, bea started crooning behind the sparkly bottle-shaped cutout on stage...

we were a bit taken aback by what we saw. such a pretty, pretty face, but she was styled a bit... mature. we loved the color of the gown (it matched the bottles of the body sprays), but the cut was not flattering and made her look... dumpy. and the hair was stiff—in fact, SHE looked stiff and a bit self-conscious on stage. sana she was styled the way she looked in the press kit (which was given away after the show, along with the two body sprays)—sophisticated sexy with a bit of modern edgy thrown in. like the fragrance, odiba??
