the "new" lancel

if you've been to shangri-la plaza recently, you may have noticed the seemingly "new and improved" lancel shop. they recently renovated the store, as well as changed owners here in the philippines—lancel is now distributed by riviera luxury retailers corporation. the lim family (seen below with miriam quiambao), who are behind this company, also distribute espada, arrow, and elianto.
in recent years, the french leathergoods label had gone a little bit under the radar, being overshadowed by bigger names and more aggressive companies in terms of advertising, marketing, street cred, and celebrity "approval". but now the brand is getting an "upgrade" with new designs, luxury materials, and an "image model" in the person of brigitte bardot—in her prime, of course. check out the blonde bombshell/sex kitten when she was the "it" girl of her day, during the 50s and 60s.
but she isn't just a face—lancel also collaborated with brigitte bardot to create a line of bags called the BB. being a staunch animal-rights activist, the bags will be made of organic materials and natural fibers. yes, it is 100% eco-friendly. you likey? (click to enlarge)
