the fash packs: cebu

hello and thank you for dropping by. if i thought september was crazy because it had FIVE fridays (which meant i had to produce five issues of style weekend instead of the usual four—and 2011 has four months with five fridays! may december pa!! ok, i'm rambling already), october is getting to be even crazier!! and we're only on the 10th day. 10-10-11. thankfully, i had a nice and relaxing weekend, spent in cebu. crimson beach hotel & spa mactan was celebrating its first anniversary, and they invited a few manila peeps over for the party and i was one of them :-) i was allowed to bring a plus-one, so i decided to bring my mother. bonding time. our first time at crimson and first time to ride zestair—a no-frills airline, which got us to where we were going on time! no drama!
check in. love the tree-stump reception desks. they were sure to add a little sign that said that no trees were chopped down to build them. these trunks were from trees that were destroyed during a typhoon. kinda sad, but i love it that the felled trees were given a new life instead of being chopped up for firewood.
we were given a lovely villa facing the ocean. it had a sala, big bedroom, spacious bathroom, and a balcony with plunge pool. too bad it was raining most of the time we were there!
in the afternoon, we booked the signature massage at their aum spa & wellness center. check out the original kenneth cobonpue chairs. i still want one of these yoda chairs! (in green or red :-)
the spa was really complete with steam, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool, watsu pool (i don't know what that is; i just read the sign), pool bar (my kinda spa hehe), outdoor mini-huts for thai massage, and spa pavilions, which were like big huts with no air-con. i likey :-)
the next day, we went to the avatar outlet. if you go to cebu and you like accessories, this is a MUST. you will go CRAZY in here. avatar makes accessories for export and the ones sold at the outlet are samples and overruns. prices can go up to like P1,000 but i was able to buy necklaces for my little nieces for P30 each!! (sshhh don't tell them hehe...)
these shells are rings! i bought one for myself! (and here's a tip: don't hesitate to haggle!)
that night the party was supposed to be on the beach, but the rain would not stop, so it was moved indoors. sayang, it would've been nice. the next morning, the sun was out and we finally got to see the beach. just a short stretch of beach. although mactan has a lot of beach resorts, there aren't that many sandy beaches. the coastline is actually quite rocky and coral-y and is mostly cliffs. but no less pretty.
