as a misfit in high school, i was not interested in going to our junior prom. but it was compulsory, whuuut?? so i said, i'll go under one condition: that my date will be my best friend (who was a girl, of course). no can do. and because i didn't know any boys besides my brothers, i was set up on a date. ew. my high school barkada and i laugh about that night whenever we get together these days.
anyhoo, have you shopped for your dress yet?? though i don't really know how girls dress for prom these days, here are a few gowns and dresses by religioso. check them out!
short dresses in the season's citrus shades:
this yellow dress is actually two pieces. you can layer the sheer lacey overlay on top of another strapless dress; post-prom, you can wear it like a tunic with a bandeau (very s/s 2012) and a slim bottom (skirt, jeans, leggings):
more mix-and-match pieces—this red jersey gown has a detachable silk satin strap that you can wrap, twist, and tie every which way; and use with other dresses:
another two-looks-in-one—keep the peplum detail down; or lift and pin parts of it to reveal the electric-blue lining:
speaking of blue, here's a royal-blue silk satin serpentine gown with pleated bodice:
this is my favorite. depending on the accessories, you can make it sweet (with classic pearls), or glamorous (with super bling), or goth (with dark details). very versatile. nude silk jersey ballgown with a black tulle overlay and cowl-back detail:
